Burt was a kind and loving father, who made enough room in his family for many children who were not born into it. He was always taking care of a problem, whether it be a farm problem, broken glasses, or just discipline. He was my foster father, one of the very few father figures I had. He bought me my first corsage for my very first dance. When I was pregnant and having problems with my husband, he sat with me for over an hour, waiting, to help me resolve the problems... He drove me over two hours so I could have a safe place to stay when things didn't work out with my husband that night or the next day. He was a wonderful man, and I'm sorry that my children will never get to meet him.

Tributes

Lost.......
The moment that you died,
Our hearts split in two.
The one side filled with memories,
The other died with you.
We often lay awake at night,
When the world is fast asleep;
And take a walk down memory lane,
With tears upon our cheeks.
Remembering you is easy,
We do it every day.
But missing you is heartache,
That never goes away.
We hold you tightly within our hearts,
And there you will remain.
Life has gone on without you,
But it will never be the same.
For those who still have their loved ones,
Treat them with tender care.
You will never know the emptiness,
As when you turn and they are not there.
